Kyeji’s cycle: sleep, mangulit, and code.
It was exactly quarter to seven in the morning when kyeji finally decided to close his eyes. A bit too late for a “good night” but a bit too early for a “good morning.” Sleep schedule? Kye didn’t know her.
He finally drifted off at 7:00 AM, only to be jolted awake by his internal clock at 11:00 AM. Too early. He fell back into the sheets, drowning in his pillows for one more hour until 12:00 PM finally hit. This was the real wake-up call.
Not long after, the front door opened. His Dada was finally home from work, accompanied by his sister, Sky. Unlike Kyeji, who was still half-awake and moving in slow motion, Sky was a literal energizer bunny.
She burst into their room, small hands clutching a package of salad as if it were the most important thing in the world. Kyeji watched her from the bed, his voice still low and raspy from sleep. “Si kulit oh,” he teased, but Sky didn’t even give him the time of day. She walked right past him, put the salad on his study table, and played with his very excited Corgi son.
The rest of the day was a blur of academic pressure.
One exam after another. The kind of stress that makes you want to disappear, but Kyeji handled it with his usual quiet confidence. And the results? He passed—every single one of them.
But the work didn’t stop there. As the house grew quiet again, Kyeji sat back down in front of his monitor. Back to the lines of logic, back to the grind.
Back to programming.
