Kyeji’s academically disastrous day.
Only supposed to take a short nap, Kyeji somehow managed to oversleep.
Not by a little. By a lot.
Thankfully, today only consisted of online classes. Which, honestly, was probably the only reason he still had a chance at survival.
His first class started at 9:00 a.m. Kyeji woke up at 9:45.
The moment his eyes opened, panic immediately settled into his system. His hair was messy. His vision still blurry. His mind running on absolutely nothing. No thoughts. Just fear.
Pure academic fear.
Without even properly processing reality, he grabbed his device and rushed to join the online meeting, silently hoping—praying, even—that attendance had not ended yet.
Surely, fate would spare him today. Fate did not spare him.
Because instead of attendance—there were quizzes. Not one. Two.
And not the cute short quizzes either. Long quizzes.
The kind where Kyeji stared at the screen for several seconds, wondering if he had accidentally joined the wrong class. Because what even was the lesson? What chapter? What topic? Who was teaching? Nobody knew. Certainly not Kyeji.
Still, somehow—through nothing but hopes, prayers, and questionable confidence—he managed to ace both quizzes.
Honestly? Even he did not know how that happened.
After surviving his first academic battle of the day, Kyeji finally ate breakfast. Well—technically lunch. His dada had made him food. Bacon.Egg. Pancakes. Simple things. But somehow, after the panic attack disguised as a school morning, it felt like comfort sitting quietly on a plate.
Then came his second subject. A GED course. And honestly?
What a dangerous class to have while sleep-deprived.
The kind of subject that immediately made his eyelids feel heavy. The kind where the lecture voice somehow sounded softer and softer until reality itself started fading.
But of course—there was another summative quiz.
Because apparently, the universe wanted Kyeji to suffer academically today. Halfway through answering—he fell asleep.
Right there. Mid-quiz. Completely gone. Thankfully—it was only for five minutes.
Still, the sleepiness stayed. Lingered. Like it had signed a lease inside his body.
By the third class, which thankfully was only a lecture, Kyeji gave up pretending to fight sleep. So he took the opportunity. And slept.
Then came the last class. And naturally—another quiz. Because why not?
At that point, Kyeji had already accepted his fate. What a day.
But somehow—the day softened a little. Because not long after, Sky quietly entered his room carrying a plate of fries. Without saying much, she casually held out a handful toward him.
Kyeji, still half-dead from school, accepted the offering. Though chewing somehow felt harder than it should have been. Like his jaw had also gotten tired from existing.
Sky only laughed. Laughed at his suffering.
But before leaving—she leaned down and kissed him on the cheek. Then quietly left the room. And somehow—that tiny moment made the day feel lighter.
After classes ended, Kyeji finally took a bath. Finally felt human again. Then spent some time chatting with his dads.
Which—unfortunately—ended in him getting teased. Relentlessly. Mercilessly. He was now ragebaited.Academically exhausted. Emotionally attacked. Mentally unstable. A normal day, really.
Now, instead of doing his schoolworks like a responsible student—which he absolutely should have been doing. Kyeji sat quietly with his acoustic guitar resting against him. His fingers absentmindedly strummed against the strings. No song in mind. No destination. Just random melodies filling the silence of his room.
Minutes passed. Maybe longer. He did not know. Until eventually—his fingers paused. Because somehow—he finally knew what he wanted to play.
The best part?
That what happened…
